HMPS-AKS Visits the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia

Yogyakarta - The second semester of the academic year 2021/2022 at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta has officially commenced and is set to conclude in June. A series of academic and non-academic activities will take place concurrently, including formal activities organized by the campus and informal activities organized by student organizations and other non-formal institutions. Additionally, the Student Association of Islamic Accounting (HMPS-AKS) has initiated a series of programs for 2022, aiming to enrich campus life and foster meaningful discussions for the benefit of all.
On Tuesday, March 1, 2022, HMPS-AKS, through its External Department, collaborated with the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia for the second time to organize a Virtual Study Visit. The aim of this initiative was to offer students a deeper understanding of Central Government Financial Reports. A total of 146 participants, including students from various majors within the Islamic economics and business faculty, as well as those from other disciplines, took part in this insightful event.
“Through this activity, particularly for students in the Islamic Accounting program, we should be able to see and ensure the process from within, how the financial reports made by the Ministry of Finance serve as the government’s accountability for public funds,” said Nila Hanik, the Chairperson of HMPS-AKS UIN Sunan Kalijaga 2022.
The event commenced at 9:00 a.m. with a welcoming address from the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia, Mrs. Sri Mulyani Indrawati, stating that “the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia, with the mandate to manage the state’s finances and the state budget, is carried out in a good, credible, healthy, and sustainable manner.” Subsequently, Dr. Afdawaiza, the Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, and Rezha Amran, the Head of the Public Education Subdivision, the Communication Bureau, and the Information Service of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia, delivered speeches. The virtual visit covered a range of topics and concluded with an engaging quiz session. Alongside discussions on financial reports, participants were also briefed on the upcoming G20 Summit in Nusa Dua, Bali.
