This event was attended by 2021 Sharia Accounting students.
Raden Roro Widya Ningtyas Suprajitno presented material on how to generate ideas for high-quality research. She defined research as a systematic process of collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to understand problems or answer questions. Key steps in research include developing research questions, hypotheses, research design, data collection, analysis, and evaluation of results.
To generate good research ideas, it is essential to choose relevant, unique, and interesting topics. Finding research gaps involves determining interests, topics, keywords, and further exploration. Data management is also crucial to organize information effectively, with tools such as Mendeley and Zotero.
The first session emphasized the significance of strategic management analysis in the relationship between sustainability performance and earnings management, as well as the government’s role in ESG-related policies.
Achmad Rizal, S.E., M.Sc. Fin, emphasized that good research must have clear objectives, replicable procedures, a design capable of addressing research questions, a clear report, accurate data analysis, and well-defined conclusions. Literature reviews are crucial to facilitate problem formulation, master references, and ensure meaningful research. Various sampling methods, such as probability and non-probability sampling, each have their strengths and weaknesses. Research data can be primary or secondary, with primary data collection requiring significant time and resources. Selecting appropriate statistical tools for data analysis and writing comprehensive discussions based on the results are critical. Common mistakes in thesis writing include insufficient reading, irrelevant samples, and misinterpretation of statistical results.
