My name is Muhammad Farhan Purnama 憨憨 a student of Shariah Accounting at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, who had the opportunity to participate in a semester-long student exchange program at Wuxi Institute of Technology China 无锡职业技术学院). Being in the School of Finance Economics, I not only learned about business economics but also Chinese language and culture such as Hanfu 汉服, Doufang 斗方, 舞龙 Dragon Dance, Chinese knots, 中国画 Chinese painting, and 中国书法 Chinese calligraphy. Studying during the fall-to-winter transition made me experience unique moments, such as the Mid Autumn Festival 中秋節, which was full of fireworks and mooncakes. Also, in winter I was able to play snowballs and make snowmen with my friends in -10 degree temperatures. At the end of my studies, I also had the opportunity to intern at the Indonesia Trade Promotion Center Shanghai 印度尼西亚上海贸易促进中心 under the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia. There, I gained insights into global and Chinese product import-export, as well as a deeper understanding of Chinese market regulations, including GACC (General Administration of Customer of China), product numbering or Harmonized System Classification (HS CODE), and other matters. I am grateful to be able to realize the saying "Seek knowledge all the way to China". Hopefully this experience story can provide benefits for myself and also for others. Aamiin.
